Abstract #
Labdoo ( www.labdoo.org) began with a simple journey: delivering a set of educational laptops to a school in Guatemala. What started as a single grassroots effort has grown into a global movement, now supported by thousands of volunteers and reaching more than one million students across over 150 countries. This talk presents the Labdoo story — how it originated, how it operates, and how it leverages technology to enable large-scale, distributed collaboration. At a time when trust in institutions is increasingly challenged, Labdoo offers a practical example of how collaborative platforms can be designed to enable global trust by design. By aligning participants around a shared mission—universal access to education — it demonstrates how global communities can be mobilized to achieve meaningful impact.
